Monitor anything

Deep checks, not just pings.

Go past "is the port open?" — run real queries against your databases, watch your queues, and assert on what your services actually return.

PostgreSQL

Connect and run a real query against your Postgres instance — not just a port check.

MySQL

Authenticate, query, and verify your MySQL databases respond correctly and on time.

Redis

Check Redis connectivity and commands so a reachable cache does not hide a broken workflow.

NATS

Watch your NATS messaging backbone so event-driven workloads never silently stall.

HTTP / HTTPS

Monitor endpoints for status codes, latency, redirects, and TLS certificate health.

TCP

Raw TCP port checks for any service — caches, brokers, internal daemons and more.

Custom check *

Run any custom check and let Vak Uptrail track its result on your schedule.

Query & HTTP output

Assert on actual query results or HTTP response bodies — alert when the output drifts.

* Custom query checks are included; other custom check types added on-demand.

Cron monitoring

Catch the cron that went quiet.

Vak Uptrail doesn't just watch services — it schedules and fires your cron jobs over NATS or HTTP, tracks every run, and alerts you the moment one runs late, fails, or never reports at all.

Schedule & fire

Define cron schedules and let Vak Uptrail trigger your jobs over NATS or HTTP — it's the scheduler, not just the watcher.

Start · ping · stop tracking

Each run reports its lifecycle, so you see exactly when a job started, how long it ran, and whether it finished cleanly.

Missed-run detection

Jobs that never report or go silent past their deadline are marked missed and alerted on — catch the cron that quietly stopped.

Run history

The status page shows cron run history alongside service health, so schedules are first-class, not an afterthought.

Alerting

Know first, fix fast.

The moment a check fails, Vak Uptrail alerts the right people over email and Slack — and tells them again when service recovers.

* Custom alert integrations available on-demand.

Recovery notices and per-monitor routing built in.

Send database incidents to the platform channel and customer-facing outages to support — so every alert lands where it matters.

Email alerts

Route incidents to the right inboxes the moment a check fails — and again when it recovers.

Slack alerts

Push status changes straight into the channels your on-call team already lives in.

Smart, as needed *

Per-monitor routing and recovery notices keep the signal high and the noise low.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Vak Uptrail? +

A self-hostable uptime and health-monitoring platform. It probes your databases, message queues, and endpoints on a schedule, raises alerts when something breaks, and publishes a fully white-label status page for your customers or team.

What can it monitor? +

PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, NATS, HTTP/HTTPS endpoints, raw TCP services, and custom checks. It can run real database probes, inspect HTTP responses, watch NATS consumer health, and alert when results drift from what you expect.

How do alerts work? +

Alerts go out over email and Slack as needed, with per-monitor routing. You get notified the moment a check fails and again when it recovers, so the signal stays high and the noise stays low.

Can I see detailed metrics, not just up/down? +

Yes. Vak Uptrail keeps granular monitoring results so you can graph response time and availability over time, then slice and dice by monitor, status, tag, region and time range — with averages, percentiles and incident timelines.

Does it monitor cron jobs too? +

Yes. Vak Uptrail can schedule and fire your cron jobs over NATS or HTTP, then track each run through its start, ping and stop reports. Runs that fail, run late, or never report at all are marked missed and alerted on — and the status page shows full cron run history next to your service health.

Can my whole team use it, with different permissions? +

Yes. Users have admin, editor or viewer roles, managed from an in-app Users console. Editors change monitors and crons, viewers are read-only, and admins manage people and access. You can run it invite-only or let your Google domain in as viewers, and every change is recorded in an admin audit log.

Is the status page really white-label? +

Completely. Your logo, colors, copy and your own domain — no third-party branding anywhere. You can publish a public page for customers or keep a private board for your team.

Can I self-host, or do you run it for me? +

Both. Buy the one-time license and run it on your own cloud so credentials and monitoring data never leave your control, or choose managed deployment and we host, scale and maintain it for you.
